Ways of Funding

Purdue Student Government (PSG)

Primary Contact: Anne Marie Thieling, Treasurer, athieling@purdue.edu

Secondary Contact:  Senators, www.purdue.edu/psg

Purdue Student Government is a student-run and operated organization that represents the student body by advocating student issues and concerns. PSG serves as the bridge between the student body and the greater Purdue community.  Purdue Student Government is charged with allocating funding in a rigorous, neutral, and fair manner.  Student organizations are thus asked to submit a detailed application to allow PSG to accurately evaluate the financial circumstances of your organization and the qualifications of the request.  Since funding is limited, Purdue Student Government prefers to support organized groups with well-planned events.  Through Senate co-sponsorships, we will work with you to aid your organization with finances.  Check out our website for a list of Senators!

The SOGA Board has as its primary purpose the responsible allocation of funds to student organizations serving students on the West Lafayette campus registered with the Student Activities & Organizations area of the Office of the Dean of Students to support their activities, events, travel, and services. Such activities and events should enhance campus life, allow opportunities for leadership development, promote engagement with the community, and create a forum for the exchange of information and ideas. These funds have been made available annually by the Purdue administration and the Student Activites Fee; and therefore, this initiative should benefit the members of student organizations on the West Lafayette campus and support the mission and strategic plan of Purdue University, West Lafayette.

The purpose of FSBIT is to provide limited, one-time financial support to recognized student organizations pursuing worthy projects for which there are no other funds. Relatively small awards are viewed most favorably, since a greater number of student organization projects can be assisted. The maximum award is $500.  To be eligible, proposals may be submitted by student organizations recognized by the Office of the Dean of Students. Funding may only be awarded for the same event or activity once.  An organization may only receive one FSBIT award per academic year.  Please see website for additional information and the application.
